Laura SHOWERSI am Laura Showers, a professional instructor who has dedicated her life to education while raising a family. I have a bachelor's degree in Education with a minor in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. I also have a master's degree in Education with an Art emphasis from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. I have taught in both public and private schools across the US, grades pre-k through 8th grade, in all core subject areas for over twenty years. I have extensive studies in Psychology, Art incorporation, Smartboard technology, thematic teaching, building literacy in the Common Core, and I am Gifted and Talented endorsed. I have recently spent time testing for NAEP (the nation's report card), and am currently a Math teacher trainer for Imagine Learning, a computer aided instruction program. I own a small loose-leaf tea business and offer tea education to the community. Through Lansing Community College, I hope to give students of all ages exciting educational opportunities outside of the traditional classroom. I want to fill the community's needs by offering unique and fun extensions that satisfy inquiry; building and growing students toward a life time of individualized learning.
