A student who enrolls in a remote proctored exam assumes all responsibility for any hardware, software, or other technical malfunction and diagnosis and/or troubleshooting. No refunds will be given due to computer hardware or software malfunction or disconnection to the Internet. Lansing Community College cannot provide any troubleshooting to any technical problem caused by user equipment malfunction.
Registration fee is non-refundable. Transferring of test dates will not be permitted beyond registration deadline.

Payment in full must be received 3 weeks prior to the exam start date.
Only CEOs and CERs who have completed a course of study approved by the Michigan Court Reporting and Recording Board of Review in the past 18 months are eligible to sit for the exam per State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) guidelines.
Certification Examinations for Certified Stenotype Reporter (CSR), and Certified Stenomask Reporter (CSMR)
Satisfactory completion of the examination qualifies the test candidate to apply for the State of Michigan certification for Certified Stenotype Reporter (CSR), and Certified Stenomask Reporter (CSMR) CSR/CSMR.
Exam results are forwarded to the State Court Administrative Office. Certification application forms can be found on SCAO's website.
- Test candidates must take only the portion(s) of the exam required for their certification.
- This is offered as a remote proctored, online exam ONLY!
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!
CSR-CSMR exams are now online, remote-proctored. In order to take an online, remote proctored exam, you MUST have access to a computer with the following capabilities:
• Access to high-speed Internet
• A fully functioning web cam and microphone
• Adobe Acrobat software
• Microsoft Word or a fully compatible program
• You must also establish your Lansing Community College network identity before the date and time of the exam. You will be sent information on how to do this.

Official test results will be communicated to exam takers within six weeks. This communication will come from SCAO.
NOTE: The confirmation email you receive upon registration is your confirmation of having enrolled in this exam. Please keep your confirmation email so you are aware of the location, format, date, and time of your exam. You will be sent additional information one week prior to the exam.
