Implicit bias is a form of bias that occurs automatically and unintentionally, that nevertheless affects judgments, decisions, and behaviors. Research has shown implicit bias can pose a barrier to recruiting and retaining a diverse scientific workforce. The good news is that implicit bias can be mitigated with awareness and effective bias-reduction strategies. This one-hour training is online. To fulfill requirements for the new rule added to the Public Health Code by the state of Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), participants need to complete all parts of this online module, then attend a one-hour in person or virtual interactive discussion at their place of work. This online module for Implicit Bias, has been approved for Nursing Continuing Professional Development Education for 1.0 contact hour.
