Bring your smart phone, digital point and shoot or SLR camera and its operating manual and learn the technical, composition, and aesthetic aspects of its use. Understand exposure, speed, depth of field, focus, shutter speed and their effects on your pictures. Also you will learn how to compose your pictures with the rule of thirds, background, cropping/framing, color/tonal ranges, lighting, visual elements, and balance. Finally, learn how to capture a mood or tell a story in order to make your photos do what you want them to do. This is a hands-on class so plan to put your smart phone or digital camera to use each week and see how your photos will improve.
