Bring your smartphone and/or digital camera along with the owner's manual and learn the technical and aesthetic aspects of their use to take photos you can be proud of! Learn how to save photos, protect them from loss, and share them with others. Learn the nuances of getting accurate exposures to compensate for dark or bright lighting conditions, how camera shutter speed controls the appearance of movement in a photo, and how aperture controls depth of field. Discover many composition techniques that will enhance the look of your pictures and how to anticipate action and have your camera ready to capture the "decisive moment"! Finally, find how all of these techniques combined allow you to capture a mood, tell a story, and express yourself through capturing images of the world around you. This is a hands-on class so plan to put your smartphone or digital camera to use each week and see your photography skills improve.
